Katrina Thomson is an artist from New Zealand/ Aotearoa, working in sculpture, object, site-specific sculpture installations and performance.

Her work tangentially reflects on society and environmental concerns, with ideas presented metaphorically using representative sculpture techniques.

Katrina has presented her work at international residencies, including Arte de la Tierra – 5th Land Art Festival, Paricutín, Mexico; Freshwinds Biennale, Iceland; and Art Islands Tokyo.

New Zealand galleries and project spaces include: Dunedin Public Art Gallery, COCA Christchurch, Dirt Gallery, Ashburton Public Art Gallery and The Blue Oyster Project Space.

Thomson uses non-conventional spaces, such as car-parks or outer walls of buildings for “installation performance” works.
